Your Score: Action movie starYou scored 85% masculine, 64% athletic, 54% exotic, and 62% refined! You love a manly man and you don't have time for boys. You like someone who looks exotic and who takes care of his body and hygiene. That is a good idea in case you are trying to eat jello shooters off of his beautiful 6 pack. Someone like.....Jean-Claude Van Damme, Belgium's hottest export. But let's face it, the whole point of this was to look at a bunch of hot guys. If you liked what you saw, please rate my test!

I'm a Chevrolet Corvette! You're a classic - powerful, athletic, and competitive. You're all about winning the race and getting the job done. While you have a practical everyday side, you get wild when anyone pushes your pedal. You hate to lose, but you hardly ever do. Take the Which Sports Car Are You? quiz.

I was busy.

It's freezing in Boston. That's about it...

The company meeting in Las Vegas is next week, I'm flying out early to prepare. You know, check out the slot machines and such. So I'll have to work, but I'll be working at the MGM Grand and I'm wicked giddy about that! I just got back from London last Friday from a department meeting, and I may be flying back there in 2 weeks. My, my, I'm just so important...NOT

Just got back from a little after-work get-together at colleague Craig's house. I got lost on the way there and what should have taken 20 minutes took over an hour. But the burger and beer made up for it. It was fun to mingle with work people outside of work, but there's not a lot of wave-length syncing going on. It's chilly out! I'm on chapter 21 and a little stuck, but I have the weekend to think about it. Monday night, I fly out to London for a department meeting, and I'm giddy about it :)

I've been so busy writing my new fanfic that I haven't been doing much else. I read, I write, I post. I got a new prescription, and I think it's really working, among other things, I finally found my creative vibe again. OK, so it's fanfiction, but it's a start.

"If you want a man to leave, tell him you love him, you want to marry him, and you want his children. He'll leave skid marks"
ok, not original, not mine, but for some reason stuck in my head, and since it's very rare for me to remember a quote of any kind with the first try, it had to be significant.

So, like, for Americans, Labor Day is the official end of summer. Once again, I feel deprived because Germans only have the fall equinox (or whatever it's called), and that's sort of lame. Anyway, it all makes sense, because the air definitely has a smell of fall in it, at least in New England. More importantly, it was a 3 day weekend that I spent reading and gaming and not doing much of anything productive. If Sean didn't need his cats fed I probably wouldn't have left the house. I think I need a life...

i can't believe it's only Thursday, it feels like this week has been going on for months... I had full-day application training for 2 days and then had to scramble to get my other tasks done. But on the plus side, breakfast and lunch was catered every day, so it was a cheap week. Oh, and I made $50 at the research study, I'm a virtual money-making machine! Tuesday was the Besserwisser student's last official class. And I know I should have said no when he asked me for private classes, but I didn't. So I'm not as rid of him as I thought, but now he will be paying a third of what he did before and I will be making twice as much. That weird math works!

Usually when the topic comes up and I answer truthfully (it's this new thing I'm trying: honesty) that I am not an American citizen, the next question is "Don't you want to be?" And when I reply no, my reason is always the rehearsed "Because I already have a citizenship that I wouldn't want to give up, since Germany does not allow dual citizenship." That answer usually satisfies the other party, and I give it to Americans and Germans. But just now, I was thinking what a canned reply that was. And if I really was a German citizen anymore. Certain things/situations will always feel more comfortable in german or in Germany than they will in english/the US. But there are certain uncomfortables in Germany that make me long to go "home". It is certainly not about the rights and duties that come with citizenship, the only difference in the US would be the right to vote. And given how my views and opinions do not represent the majority, my vote would be just as wasted as it was in Germany. What then? What makes one a citizen? Not the technicality of it, either being born in a country or being born to a mother of that citizenship or whatever, I mean the idiology of it. Seems like I would have to figure that out to honestly say I want to be or no longer be a citizen of any country. So here I am, to borrow from Britney, no longer German, not yet an American. But a piece of paper wouldn't change that. As Jon says "I don't need no license, To sign on no line And I don't need no preacher To tell me you're mine", you just know, or feel, you belong. What citizenship do you get, if you can't have both, if you are split in the middle? Maybe I should contact the portuguese about living on the Azores (that's about the geographical middle, right?). Or maybe Iceland...

I hate my job! I love my job! I hate my job! Wait...I'm sure I'll figure it out in a minute. Alls I'm saying is, being on a diet while cutting down on smoking while dealing with idiots is farking HARD! I feel very sorry for myself!

Monday and Tuesday were crazy, too many people wanting too much stuff from me! Wednesday calmed down somewhat. The yesterday, it took 3 hours out of my day to get the new research study started and it was such a pain in the ass. Today is a Friday as usual. Hence the entry :) I may have finally gotten through to someone at Berlitz who will send my last paycheck out, guess I will find out by Monday. Wish I could have a drink before class tonight, after 3 weeks of freedom I have to teach the idiot of all people...

Wow, it's been a while. On vacation, I was online maybe 10 minutes total, I checked my personal email twice. It's like I'm in the twilight zone on vacation... Good times were had. A week in Manchester with Mum, then a week in Munster with Mum, Dad, Famke, and the rest of the clan. I got a digital camera that I just need to hook up to my pc to share the pics I took. As soon as I remember while I am in the same location as the camera and the pc, I'll do that. Alton Towers and Heide Park, I got my amusement park fill. 4 movies, too, so I got a chance to catch up (Da Vinci Code, PotC2). Yup, it was a grand ole time. There's no class until Friday, so at least I can ease back into the grind with only one job...oh, and no class Saturday, so I'll have a 2-day weekend (and minuscule second paycheck ).
7/20/06 03:17 pm
So, I'm wondering... My flight leaves tomorrow at 8:25 PM, so I have to leave at 5:30. Until then, I have to teach class tonight, visit Sean's cats, work tomorrow, finish packing, clean up the place so it is halfway decent and manage not to forget anything. OK then... Again I wish I could just leave work early because I've had nothing to do since lunch!

So 2 more days before vacation! This week and last week were class-marathons, so there's a chance I won't know what to do with myself when I have the entire day off. Nah, probably not. it's still hot, but a little less humid, I could actually breathe outside this morning...
7/17/06 08:39 am
Whoa, it was hot this weekend! Like, sweat-dripping hot. The only one really happy was the lizard :) I got a failed hair color attempt and some more freckles to show for the weekend...I look orange on top and somewhat less pale below the head. This morning, I was getting ready to yell at the cats for playing catch on my bed when I realized what time it was: about ten of 8 (8:08 according to my alarm clock). Someone, either me or may alter ego, must have turned the alarm off, as I recall arming in last night. Well, I think I did. Anyway, I woke up when I was supposed to be at work. So that was a great start to the week. Thanks to my super hero phonebooth I made it into work just about 15 minutes later than usual, not late. But I'm asking you, where do you go from there? Shouldn't one stay home all week when Monday starts lousy? I think so...

...as Stormy's avi says. Within an hour the weather has changed from humid-y sunshine, great summer day to the end is nigh-darkness and thunderstorms. And I'm thinking it would be awesome to watch the storm up close, from maybe a shelter or something. Yes, I'm twisted, I love storms of all kinds. Provided I'm not on a bicycle trying to make it through. Or out in it in general. But I hope it's over by the time I have to go off to class, or else traffic will be a killer. This week will bring in 15 units!!!
